The engine is the real thing

Fade.fm's acid synth isn't a guess at the TB-303's sound — it's Open303, Robin Schmidt's acclaimed C++ reimplementation of the original circuit, compiled to WebAssembly and run sample-accurately in an AudioWorklet. Same engine, running in your tab.

What's in the box

  • The 303 editor: eight knobs and a sixteen-step grid with accent and slide rows. Acid synth — the 303-style mono bassline, slides, accents and all.
  • The drum editor: a nine-lane step grid with per-lane levels and a reverb send. Drums — an 808-style kit alongside sample kits and a beat-slicer.
  • A rack of instruments — drums, bass, bells, chords, pad and strings — each with its own mixer strip. Synths — an additive synth, a wavetable bass, an 8-voice poly, FM, and more.
  • The sample browser, showing waveform thumbnails for the built-in samples. Sampling — drop in your own one-shots and loops.
  • The playlist: coloured pattern clips across numbered bars, with automation curves drawn beneath them. Piano roll, playlist and FX — arrange patterns into a song, chain effects per instrument.
  • The share menu, offering a jam session or a link to the current track. Instant sharing — every track is a link, no export step.

Jam with someone, live

Start a jam session and send the invite link. Everyone who joins edits the same patterns, song and knobs in real time — each person keeps their own play/stop, so you can work out a part without stopping anyone else's transport.
